This paper attempts to address the lack of research on clean maritime supply chains by examining the changes in key factors affecting CO2 emissions amongst shipping containers from 2007-2016. The research indicates a general decrease in annual CO2 emissions due to ship speed and technology changes as well as less distance travelled. However, the increase in the total deployed fleet capacity counterbalances these positive changes.
